This folder contains the raw data sets underlying the publication "Melancholia states of the Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation", by Johannes Lohmann and Valerio Lucarini PHYSICAL REVIEW FLUIDS 9, 123801 (2024) DOI: 10.1103/PhysRevFluids.9.123801 The edge tracking simulations with the Veros model used to find the edge state are in the subfolder edge_state1/ Edge tracking simulations starting from an alternative initial condition (as presented in the appendix of the paper) are in the subfolder edge_state2/ For all simulations, a snapshot of all model variables has been saved every 5 years in *.h5 files. Furthermore, 5-year averages of key variables have been saved in the *averages.nc files. The *overturning.nc files are not to be used. Instead, the overturning stream functions may be computed using the calc_overturning.py scripts. Individual files contain 20 consecutive samples, and thus 100 years of model output. Consecutive 100-year segments of a simulation are numbered *.0000.*, *.0001.*, *.0002.*, etc. For further information, you are welcome to contact johannes.lohmann@nbi.ku.dk
